WHAT: I am looking for a $20,000 loan, which I'm willing to put my house against. It's located in downtown Raleigh and I currently owe around $405,000 on the mortgage (it's valued at >$600,000). Due to job loss and a nasty divorce, my credit took a dive. However, I secured a new job paying $120,000/yr and have been at it for 7 months. I am a senior marketing manger for a very large software company and have been in the industry for more than 15 years. WHY: I'm in a 6-year custody battle with my ex which is finally coming to a head on April 13, 2022. I need these funds to fight it, otherwise risk not seeing my two young children again until they're 18; 7 and 8 years from now. PLEASE: I'm willing to get creative with financing, rates and payment terms; plus I'm happy to put a promissory note on my house for the debt. I'm open to all other reasonable ideas and plans.
