TRAILHEAD/PASS: Macleay Trailhead/parking area. No parking pass is required. DIRECTIONS: Google Maps Please plan on arriving no later than 6:55AM to make it to the top by morning light. I will be arriving at 6:35AM in a white Subaru Crosstrek – wearing a blue wig. TRAIL DESCRIPTION: Meeting at the Macleay Trailhead/parking area, we’ll start on the famous Wildwood Trail until we turn onto Upper Macleay Trail. Where we’ll end up above the salmonberry bowl and see some old-growth Douglas-firs. Before you know it, we’ll arrive at the early 1900’s mansion to see the sunrise over Wy’east (Mt Hood) and city skyline. Including Tilikum Crossing, Rose Garden (Moda Center), Big Pink – US Bancorp Tower, Broadway Bridge, and the Willamette River. If the sky is completely clear we’ll be able to see: Loowit (Mt. St. Helens), Patù (Mt Adams), Tahoma (Mt Rainier), and even Seekseeksqua (Mt Jefferson). After the morning light hits, we can admire the 16,000’ mansion and take photos in our costumes! Once we’re done exploring the property and taking photos, we’ll trek back the same exact way we came. WHAT TO BRING: All registered participants are required to carry a personal hygiene kit which includes a mask/face covering and hand sanitizer. We will be starting in the dark & a headlamp or flashlight is required. If you need one, please reach out to me personally. On top of the 10 Essentials, items you may want to consider bringing: *Sunrise snack. *Layers – forecast is calling for no rain, but it will be chilly. *Gloves and a hat/beanie. *Tripod – if bringing your camera. *Shoes with traction – trail will most likely be muddy. *Hand warmers & toe warmers. ** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified and are not guides.
