Four veteran support organizations will host volunteers on various projects followed by an outdoor social with music, food, and snacks. FREE Join us in celebrating key veteran support organizations who serve our diverse military affiliated community through a team building, hands-on family/ organization friendly service day with opportunities for all ages and abilities. Afterwards, stick around for entertainment, light refreshments, and special recognition from LTG (retired) Patricia Horoho's organization, Optum Serve. Hosted by City of San Antonio Office of Military and Veteran Affairs, Bexar County Military and Veteran Services Office, and Texas Veterans' Network. Highlighted partners include Pink Berets, Vet Strong, Soldiers Angels, Grace After Fire, the San Antonio Food Bank, and Optum Serve who are leading the various community service projects. Details on the specific projects are in the signup genius link. The event takes place at the San Antonio Food Bank, located off of HWY 151, on Friday, 05 November, 2021. Team building community service projects begin at 0930 and the social portion kicks off at 1230. This event is open to ALL ages and ALL individuals. Military units, commercial organizations, families, and non-profit organizations are encouraged to attend as well as individuals. While there is focus on military, you do not need to be military affiliated to attend and show support! For additional details please read the signup genius description here.
