John Aulabaugh performs a FREE SHOW at Golden Fox Brewing Champaign based Singer / Songwriter John Aulabaugh has been performing throughout the midwest over the past decade. Whether performing with a full band, or playing a more intimate solo acoustic show, John’s passion for songwriting shines through, with meaningful lyrics and infectious hooks. On September 17th John released his third solo album, the emotionally captivating Sweet As You. He has refined his music with several producers and musicians of note, Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters), Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam), Frank DiVanna (Trashcan Sinatras), Jason Roberts (Candles/Norah Jones) and Jessy Greene (Foo Fighters/Pink). The new record, Sweet As You, was born of 1970’s technology – recorded to 2” tape at New Monkey Studios (Elliott Smith’s LA studio) and mixed with Larry Crane (TapeOp). John’s music has been described as a mix of Radiohead, Spoon, and Wilco. His life and music are not defined just by grief and hardship, but by love, family, joy, hard work and a sense of purpose. And you get all of that, wrapped in a sound that mixes rhythm and lyrics, acoustic and electric, light and shade
