Day of the Dead 3D Skull Art DIY Workstation Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a holiday that honors and celebrates the lives of our loved ones who have transitioned into the afterlife. Explore the rich culture and colorful traditions of Mexico through the skull painting and decoration workstation. We will also have mixed media available, flowers, gemstones,Glitter to glam your skull. Workstation will be available from 12 pm to 5pm. You will receive guided instructions and will be able to DIY. Please allow 2 hours to complete your masterpiece. Please note this is a DIY workstation. The Ceramic Skull measures 7"x22" in diameter.  A nice addition for your home in honor of Dia de los Muertos. We encourage you to bring a photo of your loved one(s) who has passed and place it on our community ofrenda (offering) during the workshop. $25 per skull for adults 21 & Over  BYOB Parking at side of Buiding by Belmont ave. Main Entrance on Tripp ave ***MASKS required during class and in gallery common area*** Janice Aponte is a fine artist based in the city of Chicago.  She is a resident artist at workshop4200.  Aponte's art pieces are a mix of expressionism and realism which translates into her own unique style, celebrating femininity and her cultural roots from the island of Puerto Rico. "Painting is my way of releasing energy, recharging and heightening my spirituality".   Patricia "Lady P" Perez is a Chicago native visual artist. Her Guatemalan and Puerto Rican ethnic background inspires much of the subject matter in her colorful paintings. In her most recent work, she explores the theme of migration in the U.S. from the perspective of children. "Art is powerful. It serves to bridge communities,  document our truth and heal the human spirit."
