Our community mural is almost finished, and we want to invite you to add your brushstrokes! Celebrate with us with music, food, and friends as we wrap up this artwork and give thanks to the community who inspired it.
About the mural:
This mural is inspired by the wonderful community members of Old North Sacramento and District 2. In our discussions, residents recalled a vibrant and bustling neighborhood filled with lights, music, and color. The artwork aims to honor Old North Sacramento's past through archival imagery while also looking forward, imagining the boulevard in the next few years as it emerges as a destination for art, music, and culture.
This mural is lead by Liv Losee-Unger (ORLUarts), assisted by Ellie Gainey and Renee DeGarmo. The artwork is made possible by the City of Sacramento Office of Arts and Culture and the Del Paso Boulevard Partnership. Extra thanks to the incredible wall owner, Steve Christina, who was an incredible partner in the success of this project.
