Join us on Monday, November 8th, 2021, between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. at The Mill & Mine for the 652 to YOU community engagement event hosted by the Tennessee RiverLine. This open house event is your opportunity to share feedback and ideas about Knoxville’s relationship with the Tennessee River as it is today, and as it may be in the future as part of North America’s next great regional trail system. The feedback you share will help guide next steps for Knoxville leadership and the Tennessee RiverLine team.
Knoxville, Tennessee, was selected in August 2020 as one of fifteen 2021 Tennessee RiverLine RiverTowns Program Enrollees. The program is a three-stage initiative that cultivates collaboration among river communities around the Tennessee RiverLine, envisioned as a continuous system of paddling, hiking and biking experiences along the Tennessee River’s 652-mile reach.
The Tennessee RiverLine is a catalyst for economic development, public health, resource stewardship and equitable access across four states while connecting communities and celebrating the history, beauty and diversity of the Tennessee River Valley. The initiative began as a student vision in the UT School of Landscape Architecture and is moving toward implementation with the leadership and support of its principal partners The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley Authority, in collaboration with the Tennessee RiverLine Partnership.
