Description

Rodney Wellman Memorial Cornhole Tournament Rodney Wellman was a New Castle native and Union Area High School standout athlete. He was a career Secret Service Agent serving and protecting four different U.S. Presidents - Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump. After his unexplainable lung cancer diagnosis in 2018, and frustration with research funding levels, he became an advocate for the GO2 Foundation For Lung Cancer. His participation in endurance running events to raise funding and awareness was an inspiration to many. Tragically, at age 47, he lost his fight in January of 2021. There may have been some who fought lung cancer just as hard, but no one has fought harder then he did. The purpose of this Cornhole tournament is to raise awareness and funding for lung cancer research. Ticket price includes cornhole tournament entrance fee, food and beverage. Cash prizes awarded to the top three teams. Additional opportunities for door prizes along with a chance raffle. Teams will be drawn the day of the event. Food & Beverage tickets available for those who do not wish to participate in the cornhole tournament. Event proceeds will benefit the GO2 Foundation For Lung Cancer.
