TRUMBULL, CT — Election Day is approaching fast, and a number of key positions in Trumbull will be on the ballot. To help readers make an informed decision on Nov. 2, Patch has reached out to local candidates to share their views on various topics of importance in town. Republican Stephen Lemoine, 67, is running for Trumbull Town Council in TRUMBULL. Occupation: Retired Trumbull Teacher Family: Wife is Sylvia, 3 adult children and 2 grand children Experience: Currently serving on Trumbull Town Council Family in government: No The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it: Taxes and budget management Critical differences between me and my opponents: I believe in a zero based bottom up approach to budgeting. My opponents believe in adding percentage to the top of an ever growing budget. In believe in education that is fact driven and not indoctrination driven by political beliefs. Effectively spending Federal Gov't COVID relief money on much needed town projects and not using it to artificially lower taxes. Accomplishments: Leadership as Commander of the National Association of Naval Veterans. Leadership with 20 years of teaching in Trumbull Public Schools. Incumbent candidate for Trumbull Town Council. Responsible U.S. Navy flight crew member who served honorably.
