Description

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The day before Framingham's public works director steps down, Mayor Yvonne Spicer has named a temporary replacement. William Sedewitz, chief engineer in the city's capital projects department, will take over for outgoing director Blake Lukis, whose last day on the job is Friday. Sedewitz will serve in the role for up to 90 days. Lukis submitted his resignation in early October ahead of a move to become executive director of the Dedham-Westwood Water District. Due to the impending Nov. 2 election, it's unclear whether Spicer or challenger Charlie Sisitsky will get to pick the city's next public works director. The City Council will ultimately have the final say, and the city charter does allow the interim director's initial 90-day term to be extended if necessary.
