Press release from the Town of Bedford:
October 28, 2021 - 7:45am
The Baker-Polito Administration has announced that Bedford is being awarded a $500,000 MassWorks grant. This award will provide funding for Middlesex Turnpike Corridor Water and Sewer Infrastructure improvements. The grant award is part of the Community One Stop for Growth program, a streamlined application process that combines multiple state grant programs that support local infrastructure programs that support economic development.
The MassWorks funding will support the pre-development phase of this project, which includes design of a new pump station for Middlesex Turnpike and its associated downstream infrastructure. The grant will also support the cost of design services for the water interconnection infrastructure between Burlington and Bedford. The Town of Bedford anticipates applying for future funding to support the construction costs.
Ultragenyx and the Gutierrez Company will be contributing supplemental funds for this infrastructure project, which is scheduled to begin in early 2022. The Town also would also like to thank Senator Barrett and Representative Gordon for their legislative support of the MassWorks program.
