MANCHESTER, CT — Democrat Chris Pattacini, 56, is running for Board of Education in Manchester. Occupation: Management Consultant Family:I am married to my wife, Melissa McCray Pattacini, a lifelong resident of Manchester. We have three grown children, all of whom are proud graduates of the Manchester Public Schools. Experience: Board of Education Family in government: No The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it: The single most important issue facing our community is ensuring that we recover from the pandemic, which includes both ensuring student and staff health and safety, and and educational recovery from the pandemic for all students. Critical differences between me and my opponents: I believe that education is the foundation for our community success and and therefore we need to continue to make targeted investments in improving education outcomes for all students. Accomplishments: I've served on Manchester's Board of Education since 2008, and board chair from 2010-2019, during which time, Manchester has made significant investments in education, including investments in school renovations, and as well as student outcomes generally. These investments have contributed to improved outcomes. Other issues: Ensuring that all students have what they need to be succesful and including creating welcoming schools and school environments for our diverse student population.
