Press release from the City of Marion: 10/28/2021 8:23 AM The City of Marion is seeking input from residents on the proposed use of more than $6 million that has been allocated to Marion under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The survey is now available at https://polco.us/sff2mu and will be open through Wednesday, Nov. 24. "The funds are intended to help the community respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery," said Amal Eltahir, assistant to the city manager. "Community input will help inform the City's budget process and effective distribution of these funds." The U.S. Treasury released guidance on how these funds can be used to respond to immediate public health and financial stability needs, fill revenue shortfalls, and support households, workers and businesses that were hit the hardest by the pandemic.  City leaders have identified five possible uses for the funding: The survey should take less than two minutes to complete and will remain active until Thanksgiving. Answers are completely confidential and survey results will be reported in group form only. The data will be reviewed and analyzed by City staff, community leaders and Marion's Civil Rights Commission. Participants will be asked to provide their zip code (to confirm residency) and email address at www.polco.us/MarionIA. Privacy is guaranteed and the email address will only be used to send notification of additional surveys from the City of Marion.
