SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo man pleaded no contest Wednesday to stabbing his friend six times on May 28 after they had been drinking and got into an argument at the Main Street Parking Garage.
Jose Sebastian Roque, a 27-year-old San Mateo resident, called the victim a name and a fist fight broke out, according to San Mateo County prosecutors. Roque then pulled out a knife and stabbed his friend four times in the torso and twice in the left arm.
Roque, who is being held in custody on $25,000 bail, faces up to three years in state prison.
The victim suffered lung damage and was treated at Stanford Hospital.
Roque told investigators he had a fight with the victim but did not remember stabbing him, according to prosecutors.
