Eight more COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky, even as infections and hospitalizations fall.
The Green River District Health Department added three fatalities in Daviess County, one in Union County, and another in Ohio County.
Daviess County's pandemic death toll reached 264.
166 new infections were logged in the seven-county district from Friday through Monday.
The district's seven-day average for new cases fell to 57 a day.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Department of Health added one COVID-related fatality in Vanderburgh County, one in Pike County, and one in Dubois County.
Just 24 new infections were recorded in Vanderburgh, ten in Warrick, eight in Gibson, and four in Posey County.
Vanderburgh's seven-day positivity rate among individuals dropped to just over 16 percent.
Across the 12-county district of southwest Indiana, the number of hospitalized COVID patients fell to 90.
The agency recorded 57 new fatalities statewide, with more than 1,400 new cases.
The number of Vanderburgh County residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19 has topped 94,000.
