JOB ANNOUNCEMENT 2021-20 NATIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT announces an opening for the position of: CUSTODIAN-DAY (8 hours per day, 12 months per year) PURPOSE STATEMENT: The job of Custodian-Day is done for the purpose of maintaining an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff and public; providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; and minimizing property damage, loss, and liability exposure. QUALIFICATIONS: Skills are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills are required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job including operating equipment used in industrial maintenance; adhering to safety practices; and handling hazardous materials. Ability is required to prepare school facilities for daily operations, ensuring facilities are operational and safe; schedule activities; collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data, and utilize a variety of types of job-related equipment. In working with others, some problem-solving is required to analyze issues, create plans of action, and reach solutions. Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a District-paid pre-placement medical examination, which includes drug testing, and Department of Justice and FBI fingerprint clearance ($77 processing fee). SALARY/BENEFITS: Appropriate placement on the Classified Salary Schedule, Range 19, $19.48 to $23.74 per hour. Employees receive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage and Employee/District contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement containing an agency shop provision.
