Chippewa County is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Operator II position within the Highway Department. This is a winter seasonal position and the job duties include, but are not limited to: winter maintenance, flagging, brushing, pavement maintenance/repairs, erosion control/restoration, sign/guardrail repairs, debris/litter pickup, and provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public. A seasonal Operator II may be assigned, initially, to only one area; however, as length of service increases, an Operator II will be expected to perform work in other areas as needed. This seasonal employment opportunity is an average of 40 hours per week. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Additional training in the trades may be preferred such as ability to read plans and handle hand tools. One (1) year experience in heavy equipment operation on a periodic basis such as a grader, municipal plow trucks, forklift/loader and tractors preferred. Road maintenance experience preferred.
