F&B Assistant/Customer Service/Smiley Face

Looking for an all-around good worker with a commitment to excellent customer service and a smiley face. Work will be event based and/or could be at a fixed location between Lihue and Kalaheo. Part-time work could lead into an assistant management role for the right person who shows up, and consistently gets the job done with attention to detail and integrity. Work includes: - Load truck for event (Heavy lifting involved, we will have dollies and ramps, maybe 50# max. Call time is usually before the roosters crow, early birds encouraged.) - Set-up of a pop-up tent(s), concession, or food truck, and all that goes with it. (i.e., tent, stakes, weights, equipment, signage, etc.) - Assist in any other pre-event set-up, including assisting in the kitchen and/or doing sudden store runs - Greet customers standing, smiling, and ready with menu knowledge - Take orders on an electronic device (provided phone or tablet with app), process payment, inform guests politely of any issues with payment - Assist with packaging up and/or plating, when necessary - Assist with cook station, when necessary Requirements: - Availability (to start) on Thursdays, Fridays, and/or Saturdays between 4AM and 4PM. (Other shifts TBD.) - ServSafe certification (or be able to get certified within the first month) - Black non-slip shoes - Black, khaki, or blue (plain) long shorts or pants - Reliable transportation, with the ability to use vehicle for possible mid-event errands (gas reimbursed) - Reliable way to contact you - Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50lbs.) - Experience is great, but will train anyone who shows up on time with a great personality and positive attitude Other things to know upfront: - No jewelry (gets in the way), no perfumes (some people allergic and we want our customers to smell the delicious food), and tattoos will be considered on a per case basis. - Facial hair should be trimmed, long hair pulled back, use of provided hat or hair restraints. (No personal hats with logos, etc.) - This is a non-smoking work environment. If you think you will need frequent smoke breaks, this is not the job for you. - All work-related expense (ServSafe, shoes, pants/shorts) will be reimbursed after 6 months or 1000 hours, whichever comes first. - A valid ID, social security card, and/or passport is required. - Pay day is every two weeks by company check. - This is a non-tipping position. - Health and other benefits will be available once the position turns into full-time.
