WHIV-FM Community Voice Awards and Anniversary Party
Join WHIV-FM for its 1st Annual Community Voice Awards on Sunday, December 5 from 5-8pm CT at the House of Baronne located at 1239 Baronne Street, New Orleans. Two awards will be given honoring an individual and organization recently interviewed on WHIV-FM and making a long-term impact in our community.
Founded by Dr. Mark Alain Dery, an infectious disease specialist, on World Aids Day in 2014, WHIV-FM is New Orleans' only radio station dedicated to human rights and social justice. We're proud to offer 55 hours per week of original content by a diverse community of 60 volunteer show hosts and air personalities.
We are pleased to have renowned performer Vanessa Carr as our Master of Ceremony. Vanessa Carr is a New Orleans musician, drag performer, and advocate. In 2017, she was named Saint Vanessa of the Betwixt and Between by the Big Easy Sisters for her work and support of the LGBT community.
Event tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite, Venmo (@WHIV Radio) or at the door. In celebration of our anniversary, we'll be offering ticket holders small bites, music and cocktails by Seven Three Distilling.
Guests must show proof have vaccinations to attend.
