MIAMI, FL — A South Florida man has been convicted of sharing bomb-making instructions with people he believed to be working with the ISIS terrorist organization.
Samuel Baptiste, 29, pleaded guilty to attempting to materially support terrorism, a violation of Title 18 of the United States Code, in a federal district court in Miami, according to a news release from the Department of Justice.
Thinking he was assisting members of ISIS, Baptiste posted internet links and portions of a manual containing instructions on how to build a bomb online on Nov. 6, 2016, the DOJ said.
Baptiste will be sentenced Jan. 5 and faces a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
