Press release from the City of Salem: October 27, 2021 The Salem Department of Public Services (DPS) is responding to multiple branches/tree falls due to the high winds. Please drive with caution and be prepared to detour around potential work areas or downed limbs. Report downed trees to the Salem Police Department non-emergency line at 978-744-1212 or DPS at 978-744-3302. Report power outages to National Grid at 1-800-465-1212. Avoid approaching any downed power lines. If you see a power line down call the Salem Police at 978-744-1212 or the Salem Fire Department at 978-744-1235. Do not use SeeClickFix to report power outages or downed lines; please call. You can track power outage updates at https://outagemap.ma.nationalgridus.com/. The downtown COVID-19 PCR "Stop the Spread" testing sites at St. Peters Church and Salem High School will not open today due to the inclement weather. At this time the rapid testing site at PEM is scheduled to open for its regular hours (noon to 8:00 p.m.). If there are changes to those plans they will be announced on salem.com and the City's social media pages. Early Voting is still taking place at City Hall Annex, 98 Washington Street, today from 8am-3pm. The Salem Ferry is cancelled for today.
