NEW YORK CITY — New York City's mayoral race will enter its final week as leading contenders Eric Adams and Curtis Sliwa yet again grace the debate stage.
The second mayoral debate between Adams, a Democrat, and Sliwa, a Republican, will unfold Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The rematch follows a fiery first contest last week that saw Sliwa riddle an unflappable Adams with attacks.
"I'm speaking to New Yorkers, not speaking to buffoonery," Adams said toward that debate's end.
Sliwa has the most to gain from the debate. A recent poll found he trails Adams by up to 40 points, but a strong performance plus a major Adams misstep could still make a last-minute impact, especially with only 40,000 New Yorkers so far casting early voting ballots.
The debate will be aired live on ABC7 and streamed online at ABC7NY.com and in Spanish on Univision41.com.
ABC7 anchor Bill Ritter will moderate alongside the station's political reporter Dave Evans and Univision anchor Mariela Salgado.
