Description
Press release from the DC History Center:
October 22, 2021
Education is at the heart of our mission. To deliver quality programs and offer useful resources, we often seek out the guidance of educators, especially from our Teacher Advisory Group (TAG).
Members of the Teacher Advisory Group advise DC History Center staff as we develop materials and initiatives to support school curricula. TAG volunteers serve as valuable liaisons between school communities and the DC History Center, helping us connect educators to our resources and opportunities.
In the coming weeks we will highlight a few of our TAG members in our blog, to learn about how they use DC History Center resources in their classrooms and learn more about their experience being a TAG member.
To continue to support teachers and students from all eight wards of the city, we are looking to expand our Teacher Advisory Group with the goal of having teacher representation from all eight wards of the District.
We are asking members of the Teacher's Advisory Group to commit to the following:
TAG members receive complimentary annual DC History Center membership. Benefits include free or discounted access to more than 800 museums and institutions across North America, subscription to Washington History magazine, 10% discount at the DC History Center shop,, and other benefits.
If you are interested or know someone who would be a great addition to TAG, please complete the application by visiting http://dchistory.org/about/volunteer/tag/.
If you have any questions, please email Education Manager Domonique Spear [email protected]
