STAMFORD, CT — Hartford HealthCare is opening up a new facility in Stamford, according to an announcement from the National Realty & Development Corp. (NRDC) The firm announced on Tuesday that Hartford HealthCare has leased NRDC's 15,000 square foot freestanding building for a new facility at 950 High Ridge Road. The building was most recently occupied by Mrs. Greens Natural Market and Eastern Mountain Sports. With over 30,000 employees, Hartford HealthCare offers "a full continuum of care" with seven acute care hospitals, the state's longest-running air ambulance service, behavioral health and rehabilitation services, a large physician group and clinical integration organization, skilled-nursing and home health services, and a comprehensive range of services for seniors, including senior-living facilities. "National Realty & Development Corp. continues to expand its integration of medical uses within its retail portfolio. We believe that 'Medtail,' the intersection of healthcare, retail, and wellness, will continue to play a more significant role within our retail portfolio," said Jack N. Baker, Chief Operating Officer at NRDC, in a news release. "Hartford HealthCare is a leader in Connecticut's healthcare system, and we believe they are a great fit to help with the modernization of both of these retail properties." NRDC was founded more than 50 years ago, and is one of the leading full-service, privately-held real estate ownership and development firms in the United States. Their portfolio consists of 78 projects in 14 states, including large retail power centers, grocery-anchored community shopping centers, corporate/ industrial business parks and luxury residential.
