New Orleans Street Jazz

Description

Hey there, I’m a 27 year old bassist with 11 years of experience playing tunes from funk, jazz, rock, etc. I also have an AA in composition. I dabble in other instruments as well and have recently picked up the plectrum banjo (which is what I want to play for this group). I’m looking to start a fun little collective so we can go street performing. The style I'm thinking of would be similar to that of Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Django Reinhardt, Ellington, Al Jolson, and pretty much any street band from NOLA. I’m open to experimenting as well. I consider myself a serious musician but I’m hoping this project can be something fun and casual. I’m not really expecting to get paid much (though it would be nice!). Mostly just want to spend some time performing music on the street and hopefully bring some joy to the public. Maybe get some gigs if we manage to click well! Please reach out with an email if any of this resonates with you and we can talk more about it. Let me know your instrument and your musical experience as well. Thanks, looking forward to jamming!
