Summary: The custodian maintains the school premises in a clean and orderly condition. This is a full time, 12-month position. Responsibilities: - Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas. - Be proficient and cross trained in all phases of floor care procedures to include strip, seal, wax, buff floors as well as carpet shampooing and the use of machines and equipment. - Vacuum rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture. - Dust furniture, equipment, and other items in offices and other work areas. - Wash walls, woodwork, and windows as necessary. - Empty trash into large central receptacle; transport trash and waste to disposal area. - Replenish bathroom supplies as needed from storage inventory. - Perform security and lock-up duties when required. - Working knowledge of safety data sheets and proper use of personal protective equipment in all work. - Able to work and contribute in a team setting. - Perform other duties as assigned. - Represent Charles Wright Academy in a positive manner with all constituencies. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Ability to communicate and work well with a variety of staff and follow directions as given. -Ability to work with minimal supervision. - Ability to push a minimum of 25 pounds (power cleaning appliances) and ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (trash and supplies.). Salary/Benefits: The salary range is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour for hours worked.
