MORRISTOWN, NJ — Chrissie Wetherbee resigned as the Morris Educational Foundation's part-time executive director, effective Nov. 17. The organization began a search for a full-time replacement. Wetherbee joined the foundation in 2014 as the administrative coordinator and worked in several capacities up to becoming executive director in 2019. The organization says she's been a driving force behind their growth and success. As a seasoned nonprofit professional, Wetherbee brought expertise as a National School Foundation Association Certified Education Foundation Leader to help the Morris Educational Foundation grow. During her executive tenure, scholarships increased from 12 to 39 awards and from $150,000 to $425,000 awarded. She also played a major role in creating the foundation's newly launched alumni and community support network, Morristown Colonial Nation. The Morristown High School alumna and district parent will stay in a volunteer capacity as the foundation transitions into a full-time director position. "On behalf of the board and staff of the MEF as well as our constituents, I'd like to thank Chrissie for the great contributions she has made to the MEF and the communities we serve," said Hector Mislavsky, the foundation's chairperson. "Chrissie's passion and leadership will be greatly missed by the staff, board, volunteers, and partners alike." The Morris Educational Foundation seeks to attract private resources for a variety of educational programs and initiatives to support the Morris School District.
