By Elizabeth Ireland, Times of San Diego October 27, 2021 San Diego County public health officials reported 548 new cases of COVID-19 and two virus-related deaths Tuesday. Tuesday's data brought the county's cumulative coronavirus totals to 368,826 cases and 4,198 fatalities since the pandemic began. A total of 21,075 tests were reported to the county on Tuesday, and the percentage of new positive cases over the past week was 2.8%. The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency recently reported that more than 2.2 million San Diegans — or about 80% of those eligible — are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. More than 2.5 million people, or 89.7% of San Diego County residents 12 and older, are partially vaccinated.
