We are excited to announce our recruitment to fill a permanent, full time park ranger (Visitor Services Specialist) trainee position located at the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge in Middletown, Rhode Island. The Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge is a popular destination spot, receiving over 339,000 recreational visits each year. A visitor center, trail system with viewing platforms, abundant wildlife, great fishing, and extraordinary views attracts people throughout the year. You will become part of the Rhode Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex team which actively manages five National Wildlife Refuges in the State and serves communities in the greater Providence area under an expanding Urban Wildlife Conservation Program. This is your opportunity to join this effort. The incumbent will learn about all aspects of visitor service programing on national wildlife refuges, including environmental education, interpretation, outreach, social media, event planning and execution, partner collaboration, and volunteer management. A robust training program will include hands on experience in the wildlife resource, shorebird conservation, maintenance, and Urban Wildlife Conservation programs. The incumbent will assist the Superintendent of the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts National Marine Monument with outreach and education activities.
