PITTSBURGH, PA — Coming off of their bye week, the Steelers hope to do in Cleveland what they could not do in Pittsburgh during last January's dreadfully disappointing playoff game: Defeat the Browns.
That won't be as easy as it's been for, oh, decades. The Steelers (3-3) are looking up at the Browns (4-3) in the rough and tumble AFC North. The Browns defeated the Denver Broncos last week without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, All-Pro tackle Jack Conklin and others. Mayfield and Chubb could return Sunday.
The Steelers enter the game with no significant injuries; an inconsistent defense that is lockdown at times while leaving the barn door open at others; and an offense that this season has stunk like a seafood restaurant's dumpster contents on a 90-degree day.
About the only certainty about Sunday's game is that it will not be 90 degrees in Cleveland on Sunday.
