Pittsburgh Student Allegedly Broadcasts Gun Threat To School

CHURCHILL, PA — More turmoil occurred at Woodland Hills High School Wednesday when a student allegedly threatened to bring a gun into the building during an Instagram Live broadcast this morning. Principal Shelly Manns said in a letter to families said that extra precautions were taken during morning security checks. Churchill police were notified and the district was in contact with the department throughout the day. "The student who hosted the broadcast on Instagram Live and the student who allegedly gave the threat were not in school today," Manns wrote. "All rumors of any weapons at the high school were unsubstantiated." All afternoon school activities at the school were cancelled. Manns wrote that all threats against the school will be investigated and any student found to be making false threats or reports will be disciplined. Woodland Hills moved to online learning for two days last week after multiple fights that broke out Wednesday were followed by what district officials term "credible threats" of further violence.
