Rhythm guitarist/bassist seeking old man hobby band

Description

I am interested in joining a low-key group that mostly just plays for fun once or maybe twice a week. Covers or your originals. Maybe the occasional gig would be cool but not important to me. My experience: Played guitar, bass, and percussion very actively in middle and high school - concert band, jazz band, percussion ensemble. I'm 31 now and have only played casually since then and not in bands. I forgot how to read music but could probably hang in most common progressions. Jazz is going to be way over my head. I would prefer to play rhythm electric guitar/acoustic guitar but if you're dying for a bassist I could do it (4-string electric). I don't have a bass amp though. I'm a shit singer but could maybe backup on some registers if I had to. What I like to listen to and play (I'm very open to things not on this list): Americana, rock, ska, reggae rock, some indie. Bands to give you an idea: -Deer Tick (other John mccauley projects: Diamond Rugs, Middle Brother) -Grateful Dead -Natural Child -90's "buzz ballad" stuff like Cracker, Marcy Playground, Mazzy Star -some classic rock -Slightly Stoopid -Pepper -some timeless C&W: Johnny Cash, etc. -funk -Pixies -Social Distortion -Ska (Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, etc) What I'm NOT interested in playing: -80's pop: billy joel, Michael Jackson, bon jovi -bluegrass
