Description

Press release from the City of Glendora: 10/27/2021 9:56 AM IMPORTANT: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information Design a redistricting map!  Submissions due by Sunday, October 31st.   Get started now - cityofglendora.org/redistricting2020 As part of the redistricting process, the California FAIR MAPS Act incudes neighborhoods and "Communities of Interest" as important considerations. California law defines Communities of Interest as "a population that shares common social or economic interests that should be included within a single district for purposes of its effective and fair representation." To let the City know about your community and what brings it together, share your map and your story using the map tool. Every 10 years, local governments use new data from the Census to redraw their district lines to reflect how local populations have changed. State law requires cities and counties to engage communities in the redistricting process by holding public hearings and doing public outreach, including to underrepresented and non-English-speaking communities. The City of Glendora is asking for your help to plan, draw, and re-divide new City or County districts. The finalized maps that you will help us create will define the City of Glendora's district borders, and these new districts will impact how you elect your Council Members for the next 10 years.
