SOLON, OH — Solon's Marin Wurst designed the National Red Ribbon logo for this year's campaign, "Drug Free Looks Like Me." Wurst is a 7th grader at Solon Middle School. With Red Ribbon Week running Oct. 23 through Oct. 31, her design is now being seen across the U.S. "I was so surprised to hear the news that my theme won, and I'm very excited," Marin said. "Being Drug-Free is important to me because I want to stay healthy and have a good life. I'm proud that Drug-Free looks like me!" Live in Solon? To celebrate National Red Ribbon Week, students all wore red on Monday. Additional themed days include students wearing a sports team jersey to show they're "teaming up" against drugs. "Here in Solon, students mark the week with different creative daily themes that reflect the overall message of staying drug free. The schools use this week as a springboard to focus on an-appropriate information about the dangers of drug and alcohol use as well as promoting leadership and kindness," the Solon Schools said.
