TUSCALOOSA, AL — A 77-year-old man from Oakman is dead following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Alabama Highway 69 in northern Tuscaloosa County. Hood was critically injured when the 2010 Toyota Tacoma he was driving left the roadway, before striking a ditch and then a tree. ALEA said the crash occurred roughly 14 miles north of the City of Northport. Hood was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he died from his injuries on Wednesday.
