Seeking small-kit drummer and bassist for singer-songwriter

Description
Hey there. I want to form a rock (and folk and such) band that plays with precise rhythm and a light touch. I’m going for something personable, witty, sincere, ironic, and fun. The light touch is to avoid the thick wall of noise that rock bands in small clubs often turn into. I’m all for amplification, but I want to keep it human. And when we get “loud,” it’s both a noticeable shift, and not going to hurt anyone’s ears. Drums = less than a full kit; the lesser, the better. Bass = acoustic or electric. I’ve got a good 20 songs that are performable. I’ll link a few below. We’re talking 30-45 minute sets at rock clubs, 1-2 times a month, in the Springs, in Denver, and elsewhere if we can. Not making big bucks (or any bucks?), but having fun and making art. Rehearse 1x/week, maybe less once we get some songs down. I’d like to work with musicians who are quick to learn, and sensitive to the way little nuances in rhythm and arrangement can give a song its life. I’d like to be able to jam a little, and also play songs exactly as written. Backing vocals a HUGE plus (see most of the example below). Here are a few songs of mine that I’d like to perform: https://benjaminmorse.bandcamp.com/track/all-this-meaning-making-2 https://benjaminmorse.bandcamp.com/track/cheap-meat https://benjaminmorse.bandcamp.com/track/no-doubt https://benjaminmorse.bandcamp.com/track/little-dog Here’s are some bands I love who have this kind of drum set-up: Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJYALKZZO_s [my #1 role model for live performance] The Violent Femmes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRYNviFagcg [dude is playing a GRILL, but it’s the same idea] Buddy Holly & the Crickets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mDGcxbAusg [full kit, but a light touch] The Beets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSYYAdTjIVk [my favorite one starts at 5:20] Dehd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xxmv4ayAcQ [the drums take a minute to come in] Beat Happening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0v16vzQkec [I don’t always love their songs, but I love the IDEA of their songs] If you play bass or drums and this sounds fun, drop me a line. Or if you play something else, that's cool, too. I have a garage we can play in, and maybe switch to the basement in colder weather (which I guess is pretty soon). Vaccinated is a must. Thanks! Ben
