AIRCRAFT APPRENTICE/DRIVER/DETAILER Aero-Flite is looking for Aircraft Apprentice Mechanic to join our dynamic team. We are currently in Winter Maintenance of our aerial firefighting planes, RJ85, CL415, and PC12. Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice will be working under the instruction and supervision of our Licensed Senior A&P Mechanics. Apprentice will be helping in the hangar assisting our mechanics as needed for winter maintenance from October - May in preparation for the next fire season. Apprentice Mechanic will be required to travel on 3-week rotation during fire season from May - October with our aircraft to the lower 48 states as truck driver performing variety of routine and complex transportation plans in support of the Aero-Flite mission to ensure aircraft flight operations and mechanics are supported. Job Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • October – May Winter Maintenance Detailing under the instructions of hangar Crew Lead in preparation for fire season Assist Aircraft Mechanics in dismantling, repairing, overhauling or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, propellers, components, plumbing and hydraulics systems, and aircraft structural sections. Furnish materials, tools and supplies to mechanics, lifting and holding materials in place during operations. Clean hangar, machines, tools, equipment, and aircraft interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions. • May - October, Drive truck/trailer under DOT regulations on 3 week rotation with crew to lower 48 states to position equipment in support of maintenance and flight operations. Support aircraft fleet, ensuring truck and trailer arrive at the specified destination within the required time. Maintain trucks and trailers by coordinating and performing routine inspections, scheduling preventative maintenance and refer complex defects or repair to Fleet Manager or his delegate. Remain available until aircraft and maintenance support duties are completed for the day. • Adhere to Aero-Flite safety regulations, maintenance policies, procedures and company protocols while performing their duties. • Team player assisting fellow employees in the performance of their duties in a professional and courteous manner. • Maintaining an Aero-Flite O.J.T. log book as well as keeping a T.C. log book up to date. • Preparing at the end of their apprenticeship program to acquire an A&P Mechanic license in a timely manner. Knowledge, skills and abilities: • Dependable, flexible and self-starter. • Able to adhere to safety measures required within the workplace. • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes. • Ability to take instruction; listen and follow oral communication. • Ability to work professionally within a team of individuals; promote and maintain a positive working environment. Training and experience: • High school or equivalent graduate Requirements: Must have or be willing to receive Covid-19 vaccine Must be able to travel on 3 weeks rotation from May – October Valid US Driver’s License, with clean driving record Salary & Benefits: $20 per hour to start. Starting wage can be adjusted based on experience/person.
