Hello, I am an amateur, but experienced and competent, guitar tech offering my services to help you get the tone you are looking for out of your instrument. I have done pickup, pot, switch, jack, and cap swaps in dozens of instruments, built wiring harnesses from scratch, and all sorts of other electronic upgrades to electric guitars and basses, and can help you with your project. Whether it is a simple pickup swap, scratchy pot fix, or complete electronic rebuild, I can help you out with it. Messing with the guts of your guitar or bass can be a daunting prospect, but because so much of what separates great tone from more inexpensive models from their brand-name counterparts are derived precisely from there, relatively cheap upgrades can make a tremendous difference in how your instrument sounds. I have several "cheap" guitars that sound amazing that you are welcome to sample to see what can be done. (I have also done fretwork--leveling, filing, crowning, polishing--and general setup and intoning on all of my guitars if you need assistance there as well.) Each job is different so rates would depend on what you are looking for, but this is a hobby of mine that I would like to share with others, so rates would be cheap compared to professional luthiers or techs.
