Description
Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.
We are looking to fill the following positions...
Volunteer Site Co-Coordinator: As a Volunteer Co-Coordinator you would work with the current Volunteer Coordinator, supporting our wonderful team of volunteers, and assisting with various in-office tasks that keep Meals on Wheels humming along on schedule. Day/Time: Thursdays, 8am – 11:30am.
Volunteer Delivery Driver: A Volunteer is needed to deliver meals to homebound seniors in Federal Way on Thursday mornings, when one of the weekly drivers will be away. Drivers pick up meals between 8 - 9am in Federal Way and are typically done with their route in 1-2 hours. Mileage is reimbursable.
Volunteer Backup Packer: A volunteer is needed to help pack meal orders in Federal Way on Wednesdays, 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM, as needed. As a packer, you will bag the meals delivered to homebound seniors. When a delivery goes well – drivers leave with the right bags to deliver and clients receive the meals they ordered – and it’s you we can thank.
Qualifications: Good communication and people skills, flexibility, good cheer, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders. This is an on-going volunteer commitment. We are looking for volunteers who are available long term.
Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs, be at least 18 years of age, and have a Washington state driver's license.
