We have an immediate need for a few enthusiastic, motivated individuals who enjoy decking the halls for Christmas. We are ready to start our Christmas Decor installations for the season and we need help! This year, our lighting installations begin November 1st and go as late as Christmas Eve. Take-downs begin January 2nd and are ideally completed by the end of January. Responsibilities: Christmas Decor installation: * Compiling and loading customer lights, decorations and related supplies * Installing the lights at our customer sites, which could include fascia/gutter areas, ridges, windows, tree trunks and main branches, shrubs, railings and fences, as well as some ground stakes. * Installing daytime decor at customer sites, including garland and wreaths. * Ensuring that timers are set properly, lights are functioning properly, all cords are safely installed and the area is left clean and tidy. * Ground workers may be serve as helpers and/or ladder buddies for the roof/tree workers. Christmas Decor maintenance: * We service the lights through the holiday season, so some proficiency troubleshooting and fixing lights/strands and timers is helpful. Fixes may also need to be done after normal work hours. Christmas Decor Take-down: * What goes up must come down, so uninstalling and stowing all of the lights, daytime decor and supplies for each customer. * For new installs, we may need help color coding light strings and maps to depict the connection between strands. * Keep the storage room neat and organized. * May also assist with inventory. Job Requirements: * Must be at least 18 years old * High school diploma/GED (or current student status) * Eligible to legally work in the United States. Appropriate government-issued identification and social security card will need to be presented at the interview. * Ability to get to work in a timely manner every morning * Willingness to work occasional (paid) overtime * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to waist level and perform all other physical requirements associated with a position of this nature * Preferably able to safely work on ladders and rooftops and comfortable doing so. If you're not, there is a lot of ground work to be done as well, so don't let this stop you from applying. While we're happy to have help just through the holiday season, it would be great if you also enjoy landscaping or lawn maintenance and can continue employment throughout the coming landscaping season. Lawn maintenance crew members typically perform routine mowing, weed-eating, weed pulling/spraying, edging, trimming and blowing off hard surfaces. Landscape crew members perform a variety of tasks including clean-ups, shrub/tree trimming, mulch or rock refresh, creating new mulch or rock beds, installing soil and sod, and other tasks as needed for individual customer projects. Some experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right applicant in these areas. Please be aware that the summer temperatures and weather extremes are part of the job in this industry.
