Description

Hello everyone, I'm interested in potentially starting an ELP tribute band - I would be the Keith Emerson (on keys) and I would love to find a Greg Lake (bassist/vocalist and occasional guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums) to start a band with. I have been in a bunch of tribute bands including: Bon Jovi, Tom Petty and Poison. I know the tribute circuit pretty well and have toured much of the East Coast and surrounding areas. Ideally we would put together a full rock show of about 1.5-2hrs long (including encore). Some of the tunes we would perform would be: Bennie the Bouncer, Karn Evil 9, Take a Pebble, Tarkus, The Sheriff, and much more of their catalog. I'm 100% open to discussing tunes with everyone, and I'm not a control freak or anything. The choice of tunes would depend on popularity, ability of the players and all of our own preferences. If people are ELP fans, they almost expect a few deep cuts anyway... To show you that I'm capable of playing the Keith Parts, I have 2 videos of me performing ELP material here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Gowj9rNXs (Bennie the Bouncer) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dcl3zZRuFWE&t=37s (Lachesis from "The Three Fates") Obviously these are on acoustic piano, but I have an array of keyboards to accurately match all of Keith's synth, organ and piano parts - which is a huge priority of mine for a project such as this. Anyway, if I have peaked your interest, shoot me an email! I only want serious inquiries - we all know much of this music is virtuosic in nature so I would like to see some videos of you playing ELP material or show that you at least have the chops to do so (if you send me a Dream Theater drum cover, for example, that is totally OK!). Since this is a startup, we would obviously spend a good amount of rehearsals nailing the material. But once we have it down, the rehearsals won't need to be as frequent.
