Please do not bring food to this event Timucua presents a live stream concert of the exceptional all-female choir, Helena. Helena will perform “6 of VIII” which is an original work about the 6 wives of Henry VII. The program expands upon the song cycle “Try Me, Good King” by Libby Larsen, with original monologues, madrigals, and other music to give voice to Henry’s dead wives. The result is an atmospheric snapshot into the unique lives of history’s most famous wives. The Critic’s Choice winner for Best Musical at the 2019 Orlando International Fringe Festival, 6 of VIII features The Helena Collective. About Helena: A sisterhood of Central Florida’s most dauntless singers, the Helena Collective is an ensemble which specializes in singing irradiating gems from all genres of music. Formed of six professional singers from the Central Florida area, Helena is committed to highlighting the female experience through song. In doing so, the ensemble frequently performs works by female composers as well as works whose texts were written by women. Individually, the members of Helena can often be seen performing with Disney’s Voices of Liberty, Opera Orlando, the Orlando Philharmonic, the Villages Philharmonic, and with many other companies and venues throughout Central Florida.
