I'm a bassist with over a quarter century of experience (jeez, you think I'd be Jaco by now!) I am involved in some musical endeavors that are great and I plan on sticking with them. That said, I had a band just disintegrate before it could really get going, and I'd like to fill that void with something else. I'm looking for something where I can play bass (duh) and also have some creative input (parts, arrangements, beer selection, etc.) Originals preferred but some covers can be fun. Not looking for a cover band, however. I'm also open to putting something together from scratch if a singer (and maybe drummer, or even the elusive species known as the Singing Drummer) would happen to fall from the sky. Guitarists - love you guys, but I'm already covered on that if I go the "start from scratch" route. I have a friend who is a fantastic guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter. He and I have hard drives full of material that is ready to be excavated, deconstructed, and um, band-ready-ized. A singer who could add lyrics and melodies and, well, sing... would be excellent. As for drummers, I know a lot them, but if you slap the skins like a funky gorilla with a gentle side, well, then give me a shout. I'm on the "early side" of my forties... (so I tell myself, anyway, as my hair becomes grayer with each passing day) and have a family and a mortgage and a job and all that stuff that people on the early side of their forties tend to have. I also wasn't totally kidding (kitten?) about cat-sitting.
