Description
Join us at The Garden's Visitor Center classroom to create your own festive, holiday ornament to hang on the tree. Deyar's back! This time she'll be teaching us everything we need to know to make our own holiday ornament. Grab a couple of friends and come enjoy an afternoon of hands-on creating at The Botanic Garden! Learn the steps and follow along to create a holiday-themed mosaic ornament you can take home to enjoy yourself or pass along as a special gift. The class fee includes ALL materials needed to create your finished piece, including wooden substrate and precut glass/tiles, but feel free to bring that special piece of glass or china, or old buttons or beads from home to include in your glass masterpiece. Our instructor will be on-hand to provide guidance and help with small cuts to any extra glass, as needed. Note: Since your mosaic will need 24 hours to dry completely before grouting, you'll be shown a how-to demo and given a small bag of grout to take home with you. **To allow for material gathering and preparation, registration closes on November 18th.** About our Instructor Deyar Jamil studied mosaic art at the Chicago Mosaic School while also serving on the board of directors. She works in primarily glass-on-wood or glass-on-glass, with her designs based on elements of nature. Tickets are limited! Reserve your spot today! Located in the heart of Traverse City – on the beautiful grounds of Historic Barns Park – The Botanic Garden will be a year-round sanctuary of environmental preservation, recreation and education.
