A one day course that covers defensive use of the shotgun. HiTS 12Gauge Shotgun  Hardwired Tactical Shooting will be offering a course designed to train students in the use of the 12ga. Shotgun as a primary weapon for both law enforcement and self-defense.  The 12ga. Shotgun is a manipulations intensive system that is one of the most mis-understood long guns used in a protection role.   This course will focus on properly deploying the 12ga. Shotgun.  Students will learn to enhance the positives of the system and work around the negatives.  We will also cover proper set up, enhancements, and accessories.  Patterning will be done with various loads.  Students will also be given the tools necessary to run the 12-gauge shotgun effectively in the indoor and close-quarters environment where it is best deployed.  The course instructors have extensive real-world experience in running 12 ga. Shotguns as primary weapons in the urban environment, and decades of experience teaching the use of the shotgun in this environment.   Students will need: High quality pump or semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun with a sling.  We encourage the use of a weapon mounted flashlight.  A bead, rifle, ghost-ring or red dot sight can all be used. A means of carrying spare ammunition. We prefer some type of side saddle on the gun and a dump pouch or shell bag on the belt. All safety equipment (hearing, eye protection) and a hat is recommended. 125 rounds of birdshot or training ammunition, 25 rounds of high quality buckshot and 5-10 rounds of slug.      Darryl and Wayne have over 45 years of combined full time law enforcement experience and extensive private sector contracting experience.  They have a combined 67 years of experience as firearms instructors.  Both have extensive training classes as students with many of the most highly regarded instructors in the United States, and we are still active students as well as instructors.  We are nationally recognized for our safety briefings and how we teach and implement firearms safety.  Our classes focus on the legal, ethical and moral use of lethal force with firearms for both law enforcement first responders and armed Citizens who may find themselves as first responders to their own emergency.  Our classes are family friendly with professionally delivered instruction.  The instruction is fact based and our training methodology has been both street and court tested with exceptional results.
