Description

Volunteer with Columbus Gives Back at the Columbus Taco Fest selling drink tickets and pouring beverages! Columbus Gives Back is excited to volunteer for another See Kids Dream event, their Leader Induction Night on November 18, 2021! This annual Leader Induction Night celebrates the beginning of student’s service learning journey. Through See Kids Dream programs, student leaders gain leadership skills, grow their empathy and learn about their community through service learning. At Leader Induction Night, parents join student leaders as they learn from local nonprofits, and celebrate their work through the official Leader Induction Ceremony. What: Help us welcome the next class of student leaders as they begin exploring community issues by speaking with local nonprofits and discussing them with families. Most of the volunteer work is checking families in, taking their pictures, and serving them pizza. Where: Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, OH 43221 When: Thursday, November 18, 5:30pm - 8:00pm Event Leaders: [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: Columbus Gives Back is following all recommended social / hygiene protocols. Masks are no longer required for outdoor events but please bring one to the event in case our nonprofit partners require them. Masks and social distancing are still required for all indoor events. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About See Kids Dream: See Kids Dream is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization focused on ensuring every person has the opportunity to achieve his or her fullest potential to contribute to a thriving community. See Kids Dream’s mission is to empower youth with the skills, motivation and confidence to make our world a better place. In collaboration with central Ohio educators and other non-profit community organizations, See Kids Dream creates and supports youth-driven service learning programs for ages 8-14. Each of their service learning programs focus on developing 5 factors that are critical to generating long-term civic engagement: awareness of community issues; empathy; leadership skills; knowledge of community resources and real-world service experience. Through participation in our programs, youth develop the skills that are critical for success in school, in the workplace and in our community. About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected]. Columbus Gives Back- Service with a Social Twist!www.columbusgivesback.org
