Discover the rich neighborhoods of Coney Island, Prospect Park, Flatbush, Brooklyn Heights, Bay Ridge and Bed Stuy, which have given us the likes of Adam Sandler, Joan Rivers, Barbra Streisand, Harvey Keitel, Marvin Hamlisch, Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Elliott Gould, Jerry Goldsmith, Debra Messing and many others. We also look at the indelible image of Jewish Brooklyn as portrayed in film and television over the years. What is FilmShul? FilmShul is an informative, engaging and fun presentation on Hollywood and the Jewish American experience, curated by noted film historians Irv Slifkin and Laurence Lerman, and specifically designed for Zoom interactivity. "Straight Out of Brooklyn" is open to the public and Free of charge. However, space is limited to 40 registrants, and you must register in advance by November 15, 2021.
