Description

Ways to deeply engage through the practice of listening. Featuring social choreographer Ernesto Pujol in conversation with curator/scholar Aaron Levy. Pujol and Levy will discuss their deep engagements with listening, and will illuminate the ways listening can be a form of care and grounds for transformation. Deborah A. Thomas (Director, Center for Experimental Ethnography) will moderate the discussion. Following this conversation, Pujol and Levy will lead intensive workshops in which participants will experience their approaches to and strategies for listening.* Please note that this is a hybrid event. The in person event is open to Penn students, faculty, and staff only. A Green Penn Open Pass and face mask is required. All other attendees will take part virtually, using the Zoom link in their order confirmation email. *The intensive workshops will be in-person only and open to members of the Penn community. Workshops run concurrently; participants may register for only one. Space is limited and we ask that you notify us 48 hours in advance if you are not able to attend a workshop you register for. The SNF Paideia program serves as a hub for civic dialogue in undergraduate education at Penn. In collaboration with other Penn programs and organizations, SNF Paideia provides opportunities for students to develop the knowledge, skills, ethical frameworks, and experiences necessary to be informed, engaged, and effective community members and leaders. We encourage the free exchange of ideas, civil and robust discussion of divergent views, and the integration of individual and community wellness, service, and citizenship through SNF Paideia designated courses, a fellows program, and campus events.
