Beers, BBQ & Barbells – Let’s Lift Together This event has been moved to April 2021.Steel Mill Fleming Island will be hosting an unsanctioned Olympic Weightlifting meet and deadlift exhibition. Entry fee for this event will be $30 and all proceeds will go to Foundation of Strength charity. You can also make a donation (without competing) when registering. The event will start with the snatch — then during intermission there will be a deadlift exhibition by some Foundation of Strength athletes as well as some powerhouse lifters from around the area. The event will conclude with the clean and jerk. Wicked Barley Brewing Company is the official sponsor and will be selling their great beers at the event. Barbecue and food catered by Rich's Smoke Ring Barbecue and Catering. All registration fees, profits from beer sales, and a percentage of barbecue sales will be donated to the Foundation of Strength to support weight training programs for the special needs community.This is a great way to bring the already large Jacksonville strength sport community closer together! Foundation of Strength works with gyms to provide weight training and fitness programs for individuals with special needs.
