Join us for a screening of award-winning filmmaker Rana Kazkaz's new feature-length film, The Translator Join us for a screening of award-winning filmmaker Rana Kazkaz's new feature-length film, The Translator — the story of a political refugee illegally returning to Syria and risking everything to free his brother from the Assad regime as the Syrian Revolution begins. Rana Kazkaz is also the Roberta Buffett Visiting Professor of International Studies in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences Program of Middle Eastern and North African Studies at Northwestern University. Panelists Include: Simon Adams: President and chief executive officer of the Center for Victims of TortureZayd Dohrn: Playwright, professor, and co-director of the MFA in Writing for Screen and Stage in the Department of Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern UniversityWendy Pearlman: Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University where she also holds the Charles Deering McCormick Professorship of Teaching ExcellenceThe panel discussion will take place in-person and also available virtually.
